A Look Back: Care to Ride 2023
The Annual Care to Ride event, benefiting Oil Heat Cares, was held in Saratoga Springs, NY at the OESP Fall Board Retreat. There was a small, but mighty, group made up of attendees from Team CT, along with one person from the RI Chapter. The group stopped in Lake George, rode up along the lake on Route 9N to Fort Ticonderoga and took the Route 22 scenic byway back. They enjoyed lunch at Battle Hill Brewery in Fort Ann, NY. It was a beautiful day for a ride!
A Look Back: Care to Ride 2022
OESP is pleased to announce that we raised more than $15,000 for “Oil Heat Cares,” during the Spring 2022 “Care to Ride” event, held in Uncasville, CT. The Care to Ride took place during the annual Eastern Energy Expo, on May 23, 2022.
The following OESP members were recognized as fundraising winners within their race division:
- Jim Froehlich – Highest Motorcycle
- Mark Smith – Highest Runner
- Team CT – Highest Team Fundraiser
- Jim Froehlich – Highest Overall Fundraiser
All proceeds raised by participants and sponsors were donated to Oil Heat Cares!
“We are very proud of our members and their families who, without the generous help of sponsors, raised more than $15,000,” OESP President Scott Vadino said. “We are grateful to those who spent a wonderful day in Connecticut with us, raising money for this very important cause.”

OESP is pleased to announce that we raised more than $20,000 for “Oil Heat Cares,” during the Spring 2019 “Care to Ride” event, held in Hershey, PA. The Care to Ride took place during the annual Eastern Energy Expo, on May 20. There were four divisions for the fundraiser: motorcycles, bicycles, walkers and runners.
The following OESP members were recognized as fundraising winners within their race division:
- Roger Marran– Highest Individual Biker
- Jim Froehlich – Highest Individual Motorcycle
- Mark Smith– Highest Individual Runner
- Ken Willis– Highest Individual Walker
- Team CT– Highest Team Fundraiser
- Ralph Adams – Highest Overall Fundraiser
