Fairfield County Chapter Project 2

Every OHC project has a story. And this particular project has just a little bit different twist to it. President, Bob O’Rourke, Westchester Chapter does volunteer work and met a nurse, Lisa Dwyer, that works for a hospital in CT. He learned that she is a single Mom and recently purchased a house that needed too much work. One of the problems was her boiler. Bob identified her as a potential OHC candidate but the problem was the fact that his chapter members lived too far to help out. So he reached out to the Fairfield County Chapter and asked Al Breda to take a look at the project.

Not only did Al look at the job, but he volunteered to pull the project together to help the lady. Al reported to us that he thought he could keep the boiler but the leaky water heater needed to be replaced. Thus he decided to go with the indirect water heater with new piping. In addition to Al, Angelo Formato of Angelo’s Burner Service and Glen Greene and Robert Barnes of Sippin Energy completed the project.

Al selected to install a Crown MS-40 indirect water heater, Beckett Heat Manager control (compliments of John Manning with Beckett) and they re-configured the supply piping to accommodate a Spirovent air eliminator and two Taco full port zone valves.
