It was learned that the Speck Family, York County, PA had been without central heating for two years. They tried keeping their family of four warm with space heaters. But with a new baby on the way, Courtney’s friend and co-worker, Cindy wanted to find a way to help get a new furnace for the family. Cindy learned about OHC and with a call to Shipley Energy, the wheels were put in motion.

Not only did Shipley supply the labor at no cost – from volunteers, Bill Winemiller, Gary Owens, Mark Swarr, Charlie Toomey, Barry Jacobs and Mark Callender, but they sourced the equipment and supplies as well.

The new Carrier furnace was donated by Peirce Phelps (Jared Wintergrass), the sheet metal was supplied by Poff’s Sheet Metal (Steve Poff) and the oil supplies were donated by R.E. Michel (Dick Miller).

Thanks to the generous support of the referenced suppliers, OHC directors decided to supply the family with a complimentary tank of oil.
