Pioneer Valley Chapter Project 1
Unfortunately, some installations are tougher than others and the Mackin technicians found this one to be one of those. The new Thermo Pride furnace is being delivered. Ms. Williams watches as the new furnace is being brought into the basement. It is understood that she then went back into her home to make some cookies for the crew.
The Pioneer Valley Chapter completed their first Oil Heat Cares Project this spring. It was spearheaded by Mackin Fuel, Greenfield. As with many jobs, a technician with Mackin suggested the OHC program to the recipient, Ms. Williams.

Ms. Williams is a single mom that is self-employed. She is supporting her college aged daughter and has a disabled son. Being self-employed puts her at a disadvantage in a number of ways. Her income is just high enough to disqualify her for fuel assistance but low enough to disqualify her for a loan. She needs a new furnace in her home so that she can continue providing licensed child care in a safe secure environment for children 6 weeks to 6 years of age.

With the help of the technicians at Mackin and OHC, a new Thermo Pride furnace has been installed and Ms Williams no longer needs to be concerned about how she’ll keep the tired old furnace operating next winter.
