Nassau-Suffolk Chapter Project 3
When NAOHSM and the Oil Heat Institute of Long Island were first asked to get involved in their most recent Oil Heat Cares (OHC) project there was quite a bit of skepticism about the validity of the story we were told. There was no doubt that the family was in desperate need of a new boiler, but was this a legitimate OHC project? The homeowner is a municipal worker, belongs to a union and should be able to afford a new unit without assistance. With the help of a local newspaper reporter, it was found that this family truly met the mission of Oil Heat Cares – giving a helping hand to those within our neighborhoods. The project was approved swiftly and due to the condition of the unit Nassau-Suffolk Service Managers put together an installation team as quickly as possible. The team included Wayne Lawrence (Petro), Joe Macchia (Petro), John Levey, Dan Auciello (Petro), Chet Blyman and Steven Smith (General), Bruno Cizan (Petro), Matt Spink (Slomins), John Griffin (General), Bob O’Brien (the Service Tech who recommended OHC to the homeowner) and no job is complete without some food to keep you going – thank you Phil Schwartz, MAS Sales. • Back to Showcase List |
